Revision Rhinoplasty, also known as a “correctional nose job,” is surgery done to correct a result from a previous Rhinoplasty that is unsatisfactory to the patient. It can also includes revisional Septoplasty to improve an unsatisfactory functional result. Patients may be dissatisfied with their original rhinoplasty procedure due to functional problems that may hinder breathing or simply due to appearance.
Successful Revisional Rhinoplasty and Septoplasty require advanced technical knowledge and skill. Revisional nasal surgery is more difficult due to the fact that the original nasal anatomy has been altered and scarred.
Dr. Chobanian says: “Approximately 30% of the nasal surgeries I perform had an unhappy result that was done elsewhere. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to live with it, change it!”
